Summary
The MEDIAI project addresses the critical need to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills into vocational education and training (VET) curricula for multimedia professions. The project is led by TPS Chemnitz (Germany) in collaboration with UNLAB (Italy), aiming to equip VET educators, multimedia professionals, and students with essential competencies to meet the evolving AI-driven demands of the job market.
Specific Objectives
- To develop and integrate AI-driven training modules in multimedia VET programs.
- To create an adaptable and scalable AI Multimedia VET Toolkit.
- To foster collaboration between educators and multimedia professionals through structured dialogues.
- To produce comprehensive research analyzing AI’s role in transforming multimedia professions.
Target Groups
DIRECT:
- VET Trainers and Educators: Responsible for designing and delivering multimedia training, benefiting from modernized curricula and new teaching tools.
- Multimedia Professionals: Graphic designers, video editors, web developers, and social media marketers, who will gain practical AI integration skills.
INDIRECT:
- VET Students: Individuals enrolled in multimedia vocational training who will acquire relevant, market-ready AI skills.
- VET Institutions Across Europe: Institutions seeking to update and enhance their curricula with cutting-edge AI resources.
- Employers in the Multimedia Sector: Companies needing employees proficient in AI-driven multimedia tools.
Activities
The project comprises five key activities:
- Project Management: Structured management, monitoring, and coordination to ensure smooth implementation.
- Research and Comparative Analysis: Surveys and interviews with educators and multimedia professionals to identify current AI skills gaps.
- AI Multimedia Toolkit Development: Creating a digital toolkit with manuals and practical AI tools tailored for multimedia professions.
- Short Staff Workshop: A 3-day practical training event in Perugia, Italy, bringing together German educators and Italian multimedia professionals to validate and refine the toolkit.
- Final Conference and Dissemination: A closing event in Chemnitz, Germany, showcasing project results to VET trainers, multimedia experts, and policymakers, promoting wider adoption and scaling.
Expected Results
The MEDIAI project will deliver:
- A comprehensive, multilingual AI Multimedia VET Toolkit freely accessible online.
- Detailed research reports on the integration and impact of AI in multimedia vocational training.
- Practical training for 20 VET educators and multimedia professionals.
- An enhanced collaborative framework between vocational education and multimedia industry professionals.
- A long-term sustainable online repository, ensuring continued access and use across Europe.
